24V cordless reciprocating saw! Maybe a good angle grinder with a cutoff disc.

Either way, it's toast!

or you could just do as REparsed does

I started off using a scrubbing/raking motion but when I took my first practice lock apart (Master #5) I saw that I had worn a groove in the bottom pins!

I don't believe that I have a single pick that would do THAT to the pins. Even the King and Queen won't do that, and they're pretty severe angles if used as rakes.

I have a number of excellent Bogota picks made by the master himself, Raimundo. I have made my own, and I don't think that any of them could do that sort of damage.

I'm surprise he didn't bend the picks like wet pasta. That kind of damage is amazing.

its hard to tell by your photos, since there is not a key coin matchbook or other object to reference the size, except for the assumed dimensions of the hacksaw blade. I like that you ground off the teeth but kept the pleated edge. it just gives it a look. the pick shaft and the tip seem large to me, but everyone has their own ideas about this. if the tip extends further than the dimension between a 0 cut and a 9 cut on an average sort of lock, (schlage) it is definatly to high. my own feeling is that a pick should be of a middle dimension, not the full 9 since a middle dimension given the extra ability to move in the keyway will be able to operate well in most conditions. I do agree that the inner edge should be well sanded if you have not already done so. and if you decide to thin the shaft you can work on the outer (bottom) edge of the shaft and not have to reform the curve of your hook. As to the angle of the hook, yours is just fine, though different people have their own ideas on this also.

Took raimundo's advice about an object reference. Thanks for all the input everyone.

very blurry but from what i can tell, you almost have it down. Post a picture of better clarity.

Sorry about that, my camera isn't that great. It simply will not focus when it's close enough to show detail.

It actually does have a flat tip, the picture quality is just poor. I'll borrow a friend's camera when I get back to school.

try getting further out from the picks and using zoom. to get more detail, rather than bring camera closer, should help a bit.
