Just out of curiosity... age shouldn't really affect learning how to pick right?

don't think so...

I started when I was 13 or 14 (does picking wafers really count?)

I know Zeke had his young kid of 4 or so picking some simple Pin tumblers I believe.

Nope, my son is 3 and and tries to bump and pick with me all of the time. We make a good pair. I kid you not, my 18 month old daughter runs around the house right now saying "bumpkey" "bumpkey" "bumpkey". My wife can prove it. We both just crack up at that. My son is now almost able to cut his own bumpkeys for master M1 large pin on my 1200 blitz hpc machine. We have not tried on my framon 2D machine yet though.

I started a year ago, so that makes 15 for me =O

also i believe krypos is around the same age...

I want to start an apprenticeship to a locksmith or something like that around here, (would make for a good summer job) but im not sure if anyone will take me in because of my age.
It's ok guys, i have a really bad attention sp-wow look, a beach!

I started making picks for warded locks when I was about 12.

I'd hammer flat a piece of coathanger wire, then get busy with a file file to make the "magic T" shape I wanted.

I got my first pick set and started practicing when I was around 15, i'm 28 now. It was a SouthOrd 14 pc set but only had 7 picks and 3 tension wrenches in it that I paid $10 for from a buddy long ago.

About when I registered on here, so about a year and a half now--I've been WANTING to know how to do this stuff since I was about 6 though, ever since I saw my first James Bond movie :D

I started when I was really young, like 6 or maybe earlier.

My grandfather was a locksmith among other things, so I had an inside track.

I don't think you are ever too old to learn any of this.
