Has anyone else tried to pick these? i picked up 2 from a local shop and they are both Stupidly easy to pick!

One opens withon one or 2 wipes with a Snake and i can pick it open in about 30 seconds

The second is slightly harder but not by much.

In all seriousness, just about all locks claim to be "high security" or some kind of crap like that, and all they have to do is make 'em look shiny and the average consumer will buy it. In other words, you get what you pay for, and dont always expect to get a good lock for 12 dollars (unless its a brinks shrouded which i can "sometimes" pick now ). This isn't to say that an expensive lock won't be a P.O.S. though, you gotta watch out for those

What you pay is what you get... usually you're paying for the metal to make the lock and not the lock cylinder.

If blackspur's padlocks are anything like their tools, they arn't worth jack.

I can go out to my local pound shop and buy a 10 peice spanner set (made by blackspur) for £1....yep, that's not a typo.... O-N-E pound.

lol totally just wondering if anyone else had had a crack at them.

1.49 for a lock i was expecting an easy pick. but i hadn't picked up my set for a couple of months so i thought it would get me back in..... now i have 19 assorted locks to keep me going.

Hi,
Black spur do make a reasonable heavy duty padlock with closed shackle and abloy style keyway. It retails for £3.50 and is actually a good padlock, so if you are doing warrant work for pittance and charging £50.00 for lock change and key return these are ideal it will boost your wage almost to livable.

Got a 3 lever black spur lock which is not very good. The key looks like a blank with all 3 levers the same!!! Not seen their padlocks.

I managed to open a Blackspur disk (read Abloy style) padlock with two pieces of wire. I'm sorry, but when none of the disks have false notches you have to wonder how secure the rest of their locks are. I just felt for movement on the disks as I turned them; I can't quite describe the way my heart jumped when it actually opened.

Blackspur = Poor pick resistance.
