The lock looks cheap enough, there's probably a couple bypasses for it. The luggage locks I've bothered picking could all be picked with paperclips. Spend a half hour learning lockpicking theory, you can probably rake it open or pick it with some paperclips. Those dental picks aren't famous for their effectiveness as picks. The 2 on the left might work.

You can start by sticking the straight dental pick in to the back of the lock and levering it in either direction. If this IS over presents that's pathetic.

A: You can learn how to pick this uber-cheap lock in under 10 minutes if you do a quick search of the site. Find the "MIT Guide" it's great.

B: I recomend not attacking the lock at all. Instead pull the pins out of the hinges.
Looking at the hinges you will see that they are composed of two sets of tubes, with a cap on top. This cap is attatched to a pin that passes through the tubes and holds the hinge together. Your objective is to pull out this pin, thus allowing the two halves of the hinge to separate.
Begin by using the flathead screwdriver of your multi-tool to get the pin started on it's journey to freedom; then grab it with the pliars and pull/twist it the rest of the way to liberty.

Since you're time limited, and pull the hinge pins has already been mentioned several times...
I was thinking attack the hasp that the lock goes through. It appears to be thin sheetmetal, probably held into the door frame by 3 or fewer screws per side. Grab the multi-tool and go to town on it! If you can get the cutters on it, you're set. If not, hold it in the jaws and bend back and fort cold working the metal until it breaks. Or grab a screwdriver/prybar and pry one side of the hasp away from it's wood, the screws should rip out.

Erm wait, those are bypasses so as a "newb-tard" I shouldn't have known about them. Uh, try gnawing the lock off!

Judging by the picture, and how easily it would be to cut the hasp, I'd say it's a safe bet that he is not an adault trying to access his things from inside his door.

In my opinion those look more like dental tools then lock picks. And a small lock like that is very cheap so the first reply with the bolt cutters is the quickest and easiest method to gain access. It's a small enough and cheap enough lock to replace but if you are unable to damage it or unwilling to destroy it to get your baggage maybe you can skip your trip or possibly you're not allowed access to that closet. I love the tank bypass method its brilliant and a must for any serious lock smith hahah. Happy holidays

I don't think the tank would work very well. If he's in a hotel, he's probably on a pretty high level, and I notice the muzzle of the main cannon is blocked.

I also dont' think those dental tools (and anyone wonder why his luggage is locked in the closet, but he has dental tools? Are dental tools the sort of thing you bring to dinner with you? The sort of thing you keep tucked away in your wallet?) will have enough strength to pick the lock. Now if he had a banana...
