OK, now I know you guys are probably thinking, the pins set in the next hole down, but thats not the case. The key is inside the cylinder still (can't get it out) and the cylinder wont budge forward or backward. I have it about a quarter inch out, and I can remove the first bottom pin, but it wont move after that. It can go about an eight of an inch back in, but it stops there too. Any ideas on what is wrong? and ways to fix it?

Wouldn't happen to be the cursed and over talked about B.shrouded? if so then you did the same thing I did in the breakdown where the top pin fell into the retaining pin hole/slot. If so, that sucks. If not then hmm I don't know.

Yes about the brinks lock (I'm starting to hate it now) but no about the retaining pin slot, it is free of obstruction. Any other ideas?

In fact that sounds very much like what happened to me. I was pulling the cylinder out and then Click! the top pin from the 6th stack fell into the groove that the retaining pin rides in. (And that really sucked because I knew exactly what it was just moments too late. I found out the hard way that before you pull out the cylinder, you need to turn it past the groove or the other way so as to avoid the problem. If this is it then you are like cursing at it and me and the whole world.

I think it is what you were saying, I thought you meant at first the pin went in the slot where the retaining pin was, not the groove that held the cylinder in. I can turn the key the full 90 degrees, and it has quite a bit of play when I move it in and out, more than if it was in normally, about 1/6" to 1/8". Are there any other methods than to dremel it?

Well your key is covering it so you cant just push it back up. if you could somehow get behind the key and get into the groove (pardon the pun) you could turn it and maybe push it up and free the cylinder.

How did you get the outer retaining pin out? Did you drill?
