Slim line vs Normal

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I was looking at lockpickshop just a moment ago and i realized there were these two different types of picks. Can anyone tell me what the difference in their dimensions are?

With my little experiense on lock picking I found out that there exist two lockpicking tool thickness sizes.
One is for US locks wich have larger keyholes and thus more space to work inside the lock and second European and Japanese locks with smaler keyholes and tighter space inside the lock.

But as I have seen you are located in New Zeland where I'm not sure wich of the two types of locks is common used.
Anyway the Euro picks are going to fit in all the locks that propably you get but standard pick maybe will fail to fit in some locks.
If you are interested to pick locks from all over the world I will suggest you to buy or make the Euro style picks.

hmm i didnt start this thread... but yes im from new zealand and yes i know the difference between slim line and standard.
Generally we(nz'ers) need slim line, but we probably could get away woth standard most of the time.

If your a noob in the states(fill out ur profile) get standard. Slim lines are slimmer and therefore more fragile, especially if your learning. Hope that made sense.

I've said this plenty of times: slimline picks are strong enough for a beginner to start with, and they fit a very wide range of locks.
