Looking at kaotic's lp101 key, the finish and the internal cuts in the key bitting suggest that kaotic has some experience in jewelry. My guess is that its made of three pieces of sterling silver, two of them flat and cut over a bench pin with a jewelers saw, and the whole thing assembled with silversolder. NOW KAOTIC, tell me if Im guessing right
the internal cuts of the key bitting could be made by using a small drill and inserting the blade of a jewelers saw before clamping it into the frame, then the metal is supported on a piece of wood with a slit cut out of it for the saw to work through.
The polish and the color of the metal make me think its Silver. of course, its hard to examine it over the internet.
So Kaotic has some bench metalworking skills.

looking at the tools kaotik puts out, and then looking at my own home brews makes me wanna throw my picks out the window. That thing is so good it hurts. It hurts to know I'm probably never going to produce something of that quality.

YuNdi, No Dremel used on this one, all by hand using some jewelery making tools.

iNtago, I plan on making an uphostered type pillow made of crushed velvet or suede for it to sit on held in place with jewelers pins and then framed

raimundo, Your absolutely correct (i think you have figured me out pretty good...LoL). I did use a hair fine drill set to drill the holes in each corner of the silver, then inserted the saw blade attached to a jewelers saw and clamped it in a mini vice that is then clamped into the smaller vice shown in my tension how-to guide and cut out in one piece (the crown). The LP101 was cut the same but I cut out the negative pieces in and around each letter then cut the remainder out. The stem was clamped into a vice, all I had to do with that piece was cut a slit on one end to slide the crown into.

I used the Sterling Silver in place of Aluminum to give it a more jewelry look. I only had a a few small pieces to work with and this little jewel has taken all of it. I would like to make another one that I could attach it to a necklace. Maybe even a smaller version so it doesn't look the the BLING you see rappers wear.

With all the lock picks templates available here, I thought it would be rude not to have a go and make some picks.




The handles are Burr Veneer, left over from a marquetry project, finished with sanding sealer and two coats of melamine laquer.



The King and Queen are made from a hacksaw blade, the hooks are made from a 0.020" large feeler gauge.

Dude you sanded them so much they are no longer flat but almost ROUND EDGE!!!! and thats not a bad thing!!! NICE!!!!
