Hello Everyone! I am really new to everything here and lockpicking in general, but this looks like a fun hobby to pick up. I have no idea what anything is or how anything works, so I'll be reading up on that, but if anyone wants to send me ... anything about this site or lockpicking in general, that would be really sweet. Hello, I've just registered here. I'm from Surrey, UK and have just purchased some products from [url=http://www.devonlocks.com/]Devon Locks[/url] and thought I'd come here to learn how to use them! I first decided to purchase some padlock shims because I've lost the keys to my padlock and thought that would be the easiest way to open it. While I was there I became very interested in the subject of lock picking, and so I bought some picks too! I got some slimline picks and some warded picks (these will be useful in opening my Grandma's furniture whenever she loses the keys!)

For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).

G'day Im from Brisbane, Australia. Ive been reading this site for about a month or so. I've been reading basically as much as i can about different types of locks and lock picking techniques. I'm also a mechanical engineering student.

I tried making my own picks and tension tools but i couldn't pick anything. I bit the bullet and ordered some from lockpickshop.com (Southord C1510 slimline with metal handles) i ordered them on the 30th December and they arrived today.

Iam planning to go to a locksmith and ask for any locks that they are going to throw out, and ask if he has any that you can see the pins working. I think this will help me and ill be able to feel what is happening to the pins.

Now that my lock picks have arrived i plan to post more and ask questions. and yes i know all about not picking locks you rely on

Hey yall, Love the site, very useful. Something for you all to laugh at. I can now pick most of my MASTER locks (pads), and I have not been able to pick those cheap dollar store ones..lol.... I have a 5 piece set of picks. I think itâ€™s a standard set, if there is one. I don't have any tension bars, so I made my own out of a grinded down mini flat head screw driver and then bent the shaft. Thanks for all the tips guys. When I figure out how to post a new thread I will put up my plans for a garage door hacker, designed by me. This would be some advanced lock picking. I work with electronics (fixing mostly) when I came across a guy that had his garage broken into a lot so he bolted his normal door shut and was relying on his remote door opener. He then broke his door opener; it was a very old one. When it didn't work he started flipping switches and lost the original position of the switches. He asked me if I could fix it. So I made him a door hacker. Then I started getting into physical picking. Thatâ€™s my story, and how I started.
