Hello guys ... This is my first time im posting here , i just have one question .

I am soon going to buy some lockpicking tools , i got a offer for a lock pick gun for 30 $ . It comes with 3 attachments and a tension tool . My question i can it only unlock pin tumbler locks , or can it unlock normal door locks too ?

As you can see , im a newbie , so i need some help here . What do yu think about this offer and can it be used to unlock other locks too ?

hey, door locks are pin-tumblers!!! yeh, they will work on both. Ask the guy what brand the gun is, and then tell me and i'll tell ya whether its good or not. I would reccommend reading the MIT guide, which can be found on the internet in many languages. check out the Pyro1234321 movie, as most ppl here pick with manual tools. This movie allows you to make the tools, so that you dont need to buy them. Check the FAQ's and you'll find where you can buy the tools if you want, which is what I reccommend. Go to www.southord.com and they should be able to supply you with the tools.

Hope this helps, good luck and happy picking :D

If you have to ask, I'm assuming $30 is kind of a big deal to you -- and based on that, I wouldn't buy it. You're new. Learn to use manual tools first. A new one is only $45 -- a month or a year from now, if you still want one, then just get it new.

Personally I don't have any interest in the things. If you're picking locks for fun, then they take all the fun out of it; if you're picking locks for some practical reason (ie: your buddy got locked out), they're loud, not tremendously reliable, and you could pick it with manual tools just fine, given an extra minute or two.

I agree with City. I bought a new pick gun but have very rarely used it. I find I have more of a success rate of opening the lock by manually picking each pin. Not that I regret buying the gun however I would suggest spending the money on some other picks and extra tension wrenches. Whatever you decide, good luck with your picking.

A note when buying picks or a pick set, I would recommend buying the ones with the thicker handles like the MPXS set from SouthOrd. I find them much easier/comfortable to work with. Of course this is just my opinion and there are other people that prefer the thin handles.
