Does anyone know what kind of pins this lock has? I tried picking it earlier today, but to no avail. Are the pins serrated, or spool, or mushroom? I haven't felt any spool or mushroom pins, but maybe a serrated. Not sure. I don't want to take the lock apart, as I don't have a quality plug follower, and I don't want to misspin the medeco lock. I'd never get it back together. Does anyone have one of these locks, or does anyone know what type of pins are inside? Thanks,
Nick

Usually just normal driver pins.

Here is the KIK from my 831B:
I've not taken it apart (Or any Medeco cylinder yet) but I'd like to assume there are serrated pins at least. I've got another Medeco that you can clearly see the first pin has deep cuts in it. Of course, this is all in addition to the sidebar.

Did the 831b's use bi-axial type cylinders? you may be picking the lock just fine, but if you don't rotate your pins, the sidebar will not fall in and allow for plug rotation.

Yes, you need to rotate the pins and set them into the sidebar to open the lock.
