shims

Postby ReinaSM » 13 Jan 2007 1:44

I bought shims and they seem to be too weak to open the shackle. I have tried them on various Master locks and I have had the same problem each time. Does anyone have suggestions on using shims?

Are you trying to shim them or are you shiming combo locks?

Its the shim on the part of the shackle that pops up. I have tried different sizes and the same thing keeps occuring.

You can not shim a pin tumbler lock!!!

If you mean you are shimming to rekey then thats differant and you are useing the wrong technique,

Reading your post sounds like you are attempting to shim a cylinder like you shim a padlock which cant be done,

If you are trying to rekey the lock then you have got the wrong method and need to click my www button to see a guide on how to do it properly, no twisting, bending or turning of the shim is done at all,
