Long time watcher...first time poster.
I have picked some easy locks...
Master lock No. 1
Shlage
Kwikset
And I can make a bump key for the Shlage, Kwikset, and even this lock that I cannot pick manually!
So here goes...I got a MasterLock No. 15 and have been working on it for about a week now. I have been using my hook and tension wrench and the same technique I used to open the easier ones, to no avail.
Any tips (maybe a short video clip) on the technique that I should employ to open this lock (like I said, I can bump it, shim it, but can't pick it.)
Thanks guys!

I had a lot of problems with this lock too and still do but am slowly getting better. I have been able to pick masterlocks #1, #3, and #5 with ease for sometime and would try the #15 and never get it. I have started to get the 15 recently. I think I have popped it about five times now and I'm starting to get it more frequently. It seems the only difference is this lock is 5 pins and the rest of my master locks are 4. I am pretty certain there are no security pins in this lock. I only use a hook and tension wrench when picking too.
One thing that made this lock frustrating for me is nothing seemed to be setting. I would push the pins and play with the tension and nothing seemed to be binding and when I released pressure I wouldn't hear any clicks of set pins being released. I haven't changed the way I do anything, I think by spending on time on it I just improved. My advice is just keep at and you will get it.

OK,
I understand "It's all in the tension." This thread is specific to the Master Lock No. 15. Please stick to the topic or don't reply.

the masterlock no15 is not special nor does it deserve its own thread.
Picking lock this simple is nothing special. Try visiting our new users section and reading the MIT or db Guide.

get a few different widths of tensor, master locks are notorious for grounding tensors against the outerlamination or the against the cylinder wall at the bottom of the keyway. try even a tapered tensor from some of the thicker windshield wiper stock. and keep the edge of the tensor that contacts the immobile cylinder wall sanded smooth.
The little cylinder is loose inside those lamina, but that last lamina contacts the tensor before the tensor enters the cylinder. can it can cause some troubles, use 3in1 oil that should make it pick a lot differently and use a smaller half diamond pick with the edges rounded and sanded.

nope, master lock uses insecurity pins. put the lock aside and find some other ones, it may be your skill, and before you put is aside, flush it out with some wd40
