Could i have some practise lock suggestions (to be mounted)

Postby mr lockpickman » 30 Apr 2004 1:14

because i'm kind of new to lockpicking i don't know which locks would be best for me to use

i've been getting into my house and stuff like that, but now i want to make a 'lockboard'

i want to have 3 locks mounted one beneath the other

has anyone got anysuggestions for budget locks?
(i'm trying to make the hole thing for about £20)

p.s. i'm in england...i'm looking for about 5 pins in each

maybe

6 pin at the top
5 pin in the middle
4 pin at the bottom?
that's my name, don't wear it out

How about a "bird" as easy then an "era" next then "yale" as the hardest and shouldnt cost the earth. The yale should keep you busy as it has spools in 2 and 4 usually.

In the Euro forum, Quin has posted a rather extensive list of UK locks for the beginner.

for the mounting part, check out my lock mount in this post:

Unlocks looks really good aswell, check it out.

Search for easy locks to pick, or go for one brand, then buy different no of pinstacks (5,6 take pins out for 4 like you wanted)

This site sells a whole range of lock practice boards:

http://www.locksmith-tools.co.uk

Look under their "Training Aids" section for the full range. I bought one recently (Lock Board Number 4) and it has been a great help in learning the correct technique for picking locks.
