Regarding the re-pinning kits (and I'm going to do this from memory, rather than go back out to the van) there are 60 bottom pin lengths and about 20 top/mastering pin and spool pin lengths, and they range from 0.010" up in 0.05" increments, up to about 0.4" long.

They are colour coded, but the colours repeat every 5 pin lengths, so they can't be read from the keyhole, and without the box or a set of calipers you are not going to know.

For picking, you just want a range of sizes, you don't care what they are, since you won't have a key to work them either. You probably want five spools and a few different lengths of top pins, and some long and short bottom pins. Total cost, £1 inc. postage, for say 15 assorted pins in a bag.

Sadly, I don't know of anywhere to buy replacement springs, so you'll just have to be careful.

Somthing along those lines yes,

As regards it being sorted out without me then yes im more than happy for that and that was my intention, sort it out amoungst yourselves and let me know what you want,

They come in bags of 144 but i assume 144 pins isnt what is needed so i thought i would buy perhaps 20 differant sizes and take 10 from each bag perhaps,

I could sort them individually but we will have to see how they come, i bought the full kit and havent had to replace any yet so im unsure,

I will give them a bell and ask them whats available spring wise,

Payment could also be an issue as i dont have paypal but this can be got around by either someone else collecting the money and i get one cheque from that person or ill have to open a pay pal account  (or of course you all send me a cheque each lol)

Money shouldn't be a problem, im more than willing to collect and sent you a cheque etc or somebody else (as people may feel happier sending to somebody with more posts) will.

Thanks for helping us on this :D

I dont mind helping anyone with consumeables but i have to be careful to keep in with Mr Picks wishes and the rules of the site that no commercial sales can be done without permission and a fee hence why its a one time group buy for you all,

Maybe i can get an official slot to do a group buy for consumeables every 3rd month or somthing

Ill have to get back to you on this, the pins are the same diameter as the yales etc but i will get proper measurements and kit details soon,

Ive got the go ahead to start a group buy system now and again to help you all out, i dont think its wise if everyone starts to do it so for now we will keep it to myself as the official buyer for now, news to follow,

Just to let you all know im out the country from Sunday, i should be coming back but thats unknown but eitherway i will be able to get to a pc once ive set up shop and will be able to continue with this idea, the pins should of course have been sorted out by then,

I could always do with more pins (and springs but these seem hard to get). So count me in. Think it's only fair we all donate to the 'Shrub' beer fund to...

If you can get the measurements of the pin diameters it would be a good start, it may be that a universal one will suffice in which case replacement pins are £1 for 144 so a full kit may not be neccasary anyway but of course this is a trade price froma trade supplier,
Shrub as promised i would get the diameter sizes of the pins i use.

So far ive found 4 diferent sizes
2.7
2.95
3.3
the latter one is not a popular so not to bothered about that one.
So would a universal pin suffice any of the above?
If yes where can i buy the replacement pins you mention
at 1 pound a bag?
pm when you have and answer if you want to.
