master lock #5

I got this master lock#5. Its obviously older. I found it in a box with no key, I have been on it for about a week. and i am starting to think something might be wrong with it....broke or something, I can pick it all the way to the point that the plug moves a little over an 1/8 turn then its stops. not real sure whats going on....some type of secerity pins ? the plug is a little gummed up....so applying tension is a little diffrent then usual. any ideas?

Locks only rotate about 1/8 of a turn when you've been touching yourself in... places.

Jimmysmith, try flushing the lock out with wd40 or a lock specific cleaner such as lock saver. Lubricate the lock, then try picking again. Alot of times this really helps on locks that are old and weathered.

exodus 5000 is right And I don't think it has security pins. Mine doesn't

try releasing tension a little bit...and it should click a little >.>
then pick the first pin again
this works for mine
i dont know why though

I figured it out but appreciate the help.
what was going on was that i picked the lock...but its to old and dirty to completely turn over,,
what i did was once i got the that 1/8 turn i took my picks out of the key was and turned it the rest of the way over with a flat head screw driver,

oh i was beginning to think like spool pin or something?

Cause locks that have spool/mushroom/floating core pins' plug turns a bit then locks in place.

Naw i got it all taken care of.

some one once told me that master padlocks dont have secerity pins...{?}

I seen a master lock knock off {firstwatch} have secerity but not master yet myself.....of course i dont bust open padlocks to often.
