ICL Curtain pick on Ebay

Postby Tattoo Guy » 21 Jan 2007 10:04

Just seen an ICL curtain pick on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... Track=true This really shouldn't be allowed but whenever I report something it never gets removed :? . Anyone else want to report it.

some people have no morals or scruples! complaint placed with ebay.

These picks sell for about £140 plus vat which would include delivery and which still works out cheaper than this guys start price, I know they are only available to trading lockies at that price but really they are the only people that should have this kind of tool.

From what i've read its just as hard to pick a mortice lock as it is to pick various pinned locks so I don't see why it should be any harder to obtain than picks themselves are.

Slightly off the original topic but I have one of these and get fairly good results with it but I was wondering, some people have told me the ICL wires are no match for CB wires. I would like to try the CB wires but dont fancy buying the complete kit, would the CB wires work ok with the ICL turners? If so is it worth bothering with or will it be a waste of cash?
Thanks

the cb wires are too short to work with the icl turners. i made a set of different size and differently bended wires which work well.

What's the best material to make them out of ? And would you bend them cold or heat them abit ? Also what is your opinion on the original ICL wires ?
Thanks for your help.

i use piano wire of different sizes, but 1.6mm is most common. i make mine cold and with a vice , hammer , pliers and a good file.

the original icl wires are ok general wires, and bent much the same as cb wires, but just a general wire, i now make wires for myself better suited to certain locks, some longer some shorter, some thicker, different bends etc

get a range of piano wire and play.
