Could it be for picking those double sided pin tumbler locks that they were discussing in this forum? I don't really know, but it kind of looks like it would work for that.

A pick that doesn't work. Or that you'll get stuck in the lock.

Aside from vandalising a lock by jamming it inside so someone can't put their key in, I don't see how it would work lol.

Might work for some warden padlocks perhaps.

never seen it but as said it does look like it would get jammed in the lock

not a pick.. it is a tool for removing the cylinder from a Kwickset key- in- knob

that is a very old design, you may see it in things like articles about houdini, I have also heard it refered to as a mailbox pick, presumably for ones private box when the key is lost, I never quite figured out what sort of antique locks it was good for.
