Well two of them are made out of the metal banding strap used to keep stuff on pallets and the other three are common steel flat bar I found at work. Sorry that's the best I can describe it.

The middle right one will break very soon, it's too thin. There's really no need to harden your picks. If you want them to last longer, just be gentle with them.

They are sanded smooth as silk, shiney, lighting is bad. They glide smooth but I do have a bending problem. I just have to quit procastinating and buy some pro picks.

There a great attepmt mate, I appluad your effort.

If you are still interested in making some more which your capable of, thre are templates in the maunal pick thread simply print them, and paste themt o the metal and cut away.

Good luck either way buddy :)

why don't you regard those as good training pieces for pickmaking then move on to some harder material like feeler guage or hacksaw blade. you have proven you can make them so now use good steel.

very nice effort. i use Southord but if you wanna make your own good for you, i just don't have the equipment. if you want any close up pics of the tips of some picks email me n ill send u some.
