my tweezer pick!

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

my tweezer pick!

hay every one as you can tell im new here and this is my first post ive been wanting to pick for a while now as a sort of "non active sport/hobby" so today i took it up =] i watched a vid off of this site on how to make a pick but then realised i don't have a grinder or nothing like that not even a spare hacksaw blade so i went through my draw and found a tweezer i snapped it in half and got my needle files out and some emery cloth and in no time at all i had a nice first pick ive so far picked a few small locked around my home with out a tension bar but tomorow in going to get my padlock off my shed and make a tension bar and then pick it it sounds fun.

i relay just wanted to know what you think of my first pick i would post a pick and i will but not tonight i don't think its SS (stainless steal)

thanks

You can't!!! Without a tension bar there is no way to turn it.

I've seen it done, but only on small/cheap locks. I mean, you can find the lock with a bitting that matches your random rake, I'm sure, then you just use it like a key, but I think it's pretty rare.

I saw some slick 1 handed picking down in College Station, however, from one of our members, Lucky#### I just can't remember the numbers :P

but if you were putting tension on the lock with the pick itself instead of a tension wrench than wouldnt it damage the pick?

Or are you just saying that some locks are so badly made that the pin can rest above the shear line without any tension being applied?
