ha, bet you all though I did just like you thought I would and got what I needed and then disappeared. Well, sort of. Actually I had a friend come over, and he was able to pust the lock without compromising the integrity of the chest. I saved all the pieces, and as soon as I can get a camera again I'll post pictures. But the lock actually took a different type of key than what was originally thought. The key seems that it should be prong shaped or something.

could well be. there could be warding of some sort. glad tohear you got it open, now to figure out how it works, and put it back together, and openit again.
