Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Thanks for your responses. I bought a cheap hiking backpack on craigslist. It looks drab and beat up. I also have a pacsafe:

Can anyone recommend a good combination lock, I rather not carry a key. But I've had rather unpleasant experiences with getting my things stolen when they were locked up ( I now learned avoid masterlock combination lock).

any of the small ones with individual numbered dials. anything with a combo dial on the front wont fit all lockers.

Sorry to bring this comment back up, but I consider JackNo a friend and I'm a little frustrated that you would say something so directly insulting to him. Disagree all you like, passionately if you want, but he's absolutely not incompetent.

WTF! what u actually said was

[quote="n2oah"]You're telling me American Locks aren't good locks? You can even put Medeco cores in them if you want. [quote]

Firstly I said nothing about American locks not being good as i has already stated and u made absolutely no reference to the size of the locks.

Secondly disagreeing with me is fine but insulting me is just childish. if you REALLY want to argue with me then fine but he said he is backpacking round the world. i backpacked through France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Austria and Italy! and about 20 Hostels around them so i really do have experience with these things.

Im sure a lot of lockers will have bigger spaces for the locks but he asked for advice, i gave him advice based on what i knew from actual experience doing what hes doing. im sure he will gladly take in any advice you have to offer but i am NOT interesting in having an argument over the size of the holes on locker doors.

All the best n2oah, hope this little disagreement doesn't effect any future conversation on the forum.
