Bob, we give bobbypins a 2 banana rating.

Although they might be good for dollar store warded padlocks, it's hit or miss and for gods sake, spend $20 and get real picks. or make your own with some wiper inserts or street sweeper bristles. Paperclips, bobby (hair) pins, safety pins are all great if you're really stuck somewhere and need to MacGyver your way our of trouble, but if you want to pick as a hobby, you will at least need a hook pick, and a tension wrench, made out of decent metal.

I'm sticking to my 2 banana rating.

we have all played with different thing like bobby pins, hair pins, paper clips but doubt u can open more than 3-5 locks without seeing some serious wear.

Ass suggested above buy or make some picks. as your kinda new ide recommend buying them till you really know what your doing.

Postby Ganphra » 22 Jan 2007 10:48

well, I started picking with bobby ins and still use em.....so in my oppinion they get a 8 outta ten but the only thing I have to compare it to is a paper clip but anyways don't listen to wut the others say, if it is small enough and not to bendy it'll work... Its not the tool its the person, the most important thing is patience and knowledge, if you know how to use it and have time you can open any lock...regardless of the pick....well not any but you know wut i mean

;) Ganphra
just be happy, smile to yourself, right now, even if your sad....you'll like it, sing to yourself if you must, please for your sake and the worlds be happy, the last thing we need is more sadness....its alright.......don't worry

Ok its fair enough saying you pick with them and get on fine, but saying you have never used a real pick and then saying don't listen to what the others say is a little arrogant don't u think?

There are some good reasons people buy picks, and good reasons pay more for some makes of pick. personally i use Southord because they are cheap, work well and come recommended. as well as i can buy the picks individually easier than u can with some makes.

now i get on fine with my SOs and have never used a Peterson pick. i don't like the look of the handles either as im used to thin picks. but without using them i could never say *screw the more experienced members i know better* without even trying them

ummm...it depends on the bobbypin
some bobbypins are cheapy plastic or cheapy bendy metal
BUT if you happen to find a steel one on the floor at your school they
happen to work real well
i say
7/10
by the way paperclips are like 1/10

3/10 well, i think there all right.

they work for really small key holes were your standard tension wrench might not work..
