tri circle security pins

Postby adesw » 26 Jan 2007 14:16

ok ive been practicing all day on a lock with no luck whatsoever. I know im a complete noob at it and im not using proper tools but i would have expected after all of my attempts to have got it atleast once. Just a minute ago i swear i had all the top pins above the shear line yet it wouldnt turn.

The lock i am using is a tri circle 263 and im just wondering what it has in the way of security pins.

-thanks

tri circles are bloody evil things i tell you...

i opened a tricircle with an angle grinder and it has 5 spools.
never picked it either so dont worry, however talking to some people who swear theyre simple.

There is a bypass but i wont go into it,.

i agree, truly evil
it is possible to SPP but a lot easier to use a bogota style pick with ultra light tension. with practice you'll be opening them in seconds.
good luck :D

i find it silly that this lock is apparently so hard to pick but rediculously easy to shim.

I shall keep persevearing however.

Actually, I really don't find the 265 easy to shim at all and snapped a lot of shims opening mine...

The one I took apart had 3 mushroom pins in it - Tricircle seem to be a bit random in the way they put their security pins in to be honest.

Tricircle can be OK, or if they have been left to fill with gunk, can be really difficult to pick. Due to the shoddy way they are made, the feedback can be reduced, and they become quite hard.

I agree, Hard to shim, but easy to pick. aslong as you can understand whats happening with the spools. You can have a spool every pin with T C. Get them false set them you are away lol.

well i dont have any experience and im learning at the mo :D plus the lock is aout 3 years old and has been collecting dust in my drawer. I speant about 2 hours shimming it over and over again using a shim made from a fosters can, and i also showed my freind on the lock he had on his locker (which is also a 263 luckily.)

I cannot shim any other tri circle locks in which ive been shown though so maybe it was just this specific type.
