carry case for home made picks?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

carry case for home made picks?

Postby obcessedwithcoffee » 24 Apr 2004 11:41

Hello to all out there!!

I have a question...... does anyone have any suggestions for a carry case for home made lockpicks?

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You could use a sun glass case. I went to Walmart and asked this guy how much this case was and he said its not for sale and he gave it to me for free. :)

What I have used for homemade picks is a drill bit roll (For auger/flat drills). A nylon/leahter roll holds many picks (I make my picks from half a hacksaw blade to make them slightly taller to fit my case).

Get yourself a needle and some thread. Then go buy a yard of whatever -- I used black denim, and it works just fine. If you have the dexterity to make lock picks, a little bit of sewing shouldn't be a problem.

I use a hard sunglass case a friend didn't need anymore. It had a plastic/fuzzy lining that I cut to make little holders for my picks to slip into. Works great! They don't even clink around.

I use a case from an old nail file set ... far better than a southord type leather pouch

While I plan on slapping together some sort of nylon case to hook on a beltloop with my other tools (pliers/multitool, the picks and a knife) I currently have all of my picks made from a feeler gauge set. They all rotate into it and it has a thumbscrew to tighten them. Right now they just sit hapily in my pocket.

"ps I like coffee too"

Right now its finals week at my school and I got four exams in just over 24 hours, I haven't slept in a few days so I might be missing a joke or something but, what are you talking about?
