For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting. Cause everyone should HYSF as well as there Pick-fu.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.

Hi, I'm new to this lock picking area, and basically I just tried it out for fun, but now I'm addicted,... I can't get a 4pin padlock yet, but I did complete a shiv out of a coke can. Oh and I've even started going to the University of Texas lockpicking group. I think that about sums up everything about me that includes lock picking.

Hi members, I am a newbie haven't picked a lock intentionally but am going to learn the craft. It is a great way to relax, and it seems like members are great people.

Thanks: If someone can let me know how to with the tags/signatures (which are great may I add) I would appreciate it.

Hello All

New to this forum and new to lock picking, but old to the world.

I have thought about lock picking off and on for a long time.

My wife and I run a storage facility. I have to cut the locks when people default on their contract. Tired of bruising my stomach using the cutters. Thought that if picking is not too difficult I could pick the locks and avoid using the "Jaws of enforcement".

Those will likely be my first questions.

Hello. I started looking into lockpicking after I heard about bumping. I know, I know, "bumping" is basically a curse on this board, but don't worry. I've actually picked my first lock today, before bumping anything. The lock was just a KW1, which I've heard is supposed to be one of the easiest locks to pick. I used an allen wrench for a tension wrench and a paper clip for a pick. I can pick my front door in about 30 seconds or less now. Sure scared my dad when I showed him.

Anyways, I was wondering what kind of lock I should try now; what's the next easiest lock, after a KW1?

Hello, when i found this site i immediately wanted to start picking locks(my own of course) and i think that this site is great and teaches you the fun of picking locks.

locks ive picked since first coming to this site: Magnum 40mm, Masterlock No.22(warded), and a "u-haul" brand ,circular type lock.

HELLO!

new user here... I had toyed a bit with lock picking as a Jr. High schooler during my BBS days when i located a bunch of lock picking guides but wasn't able to take it up as a serious hobby until I attended last years defcon and was able to purchase a kit and have since picked (with the help of the guides on this site) a few padlocks I own...

I find the info on this site invaluable and i'm a little late in posting my welcome message but hell, here i am! thanks for the site and maybe i won't just disappear into the shadows again...

although i'm certain to need more help on more advanced locks, but for now i need to re-read and finish reading some guides before i start asking!
