Hey guys,
I decided to open up my Abus 27/50 padlock to lock at the insides, and as I did that the pins all went dodgy and everything in the plug was jammed..
I have all the pins, but the springs, a couple have been snapped in half and I dont know where to get springs from..
All I need is the springs.. for the top shell pins, thanks

Hello,
My springs I have are from 5 pin cylinders, a Abus cylinder and a Yale..
How much is a small pinning kit and can anyone give me some info about them please.
Thank you

just compare one of the springs from a rim cylinder to the padlock springs.
if it's a similar size and won't get jammed in the hole then use it.
always keep bits of locks for times like this

Well the problem is, is that all the springs got destroyed..now I put my Abus rim cylinder springs in it, 4 are great! but 1 of the springs is massive..and erm, what should I do?
Mod change the Post title if you would please it is a bit OTT.

Hey fellas,
So I finally sorted out my padlock, replaced the springs, put the pins back in the shell and plug, working all good, just need to apply some greese to the 2 ball bearings inside the lock.
The Abus 27/50 (which is the lock I took apart, broke, then fixed).. anyway it has 4 spool pins and 1 regular pin, think its a serrated pin.
But I wanted to thank you guys for pointing out the obvious to me yet again, especially cjames, he makes me look like an idiot..
But thought i'd share a tip..ALWAYS USE A PLUG FOLLOWER (but I dont have one)
Thanks again

we dont need to make you out as an idiot, you do fine by yourself
seriously though lee, you done well sorting it out and you learn by your mistakes.
improvise a plug follower, i use a pencil wrapped with paper to the right diameter. you could use a marker pen, dowel or anything else that fits.
