Seemed to help with both. although after a few drinks when theres a single pin cant set (while SPP) a quick rake with a half diamond/Hook usually get it open.

Ok I am never going to try this again. It took me 1.5 hours to open my Master 140 and then I passed out on the floor waking up at 6am with my lockpick in my hand and an open lock. At least I was not totally useless.(I may have been too drunk)

erm ya i think u might have been. i was talking a couple of JD n Cokes not drowning ur sorrows drunk. getting that drunk on a night out is stupid never mind on your own to see if u can pick a lock a bit faster.

Man, this topic just proves that this is a comprehensive lockpicking site. I'm new to lockpicking, but quickly learned that after having a few brews I was much more successful in picking locks. I could try the same locks the next day, stone cold sober, and it would take twice as long.

As someone else posted, I used to be a cop, too. Aside from the comments on time perception, I will say that if someone is a hardcore drinker, it can be almost impossible to tell if they're drunk from their driving ability, so maybe that applies to lockpicking. I pulled over people for other reasons, but because I smelled alcohol I gave them field sobriety tests, which many passed with flying colors. It was only after they volunteered to submit a sample on a portable breathalyzer device that I found that they were absolutely loaded.

Lesson: don't blow into a breathalyzer on a traffic stop!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I can just see it...

Passing out with a pick and lock in hand, and you wake up and the lock is picked and there is a tension wrench in it, haha.

I guess, its how much you drink. It you drink too much then you can control yourself. Usually 1 bottle is fine..

Also for making it easier to pick, its about controlling the pressure?

When your drunk your not as tense.. hense the reason why people drink.
