An interesting (and slightly worrying) find by our accounts lady at work: Our insurance company doesn't insure us if the serviceman behind the wheel has been convicted of drink driving. Or at least for 5 years after the date of the conviction.
This sucked, cause we had to turn back a guy trying for an apprenticeship with us, due to recently losing his licence from drink driving. And in an apprenticeship that lasts 4 years, that rules you out completely. So we hired the other guy.
Note: Our insurance company is one of the most strict ones around, and we're in Brisbane, Australia, so it's a fair bet that it'd be different for other places.
Oh, yeah back on topic. I don't drink, (even if I do, it's still 'Zero Tolerance' for people on their provisional licence here.) so I think I'll stick to SSPP.
