Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Okay, so, basically, I was wondering if there was a way to figure out the combination for Dudley locks, I've seen all the Masterlock tuts and to no avail with my Dudley.
I know my combination, but I also have two spare locks that could be put to use. Of course, the combos are unknown because I removed (and lost) the combo sticker.
Anyway, if anyone could give me a link or knows about this, please give me some information.

thats a way to decode a combo lock through the shackle hole, you will need to shim the lock open first.

Bump the post???? what after a couple of hours? your not post count wadding are you
As for the dudley question, if you look around there is a proper thread on them which cant be missed so i suggest search if the above link isnt to that actual thread,
I believe they arent as easy as the masters and as a side note you cant shim them either,

Well, I know how to shim, and I have some (homemade and bought). Basically, I just want to know how to do things, learning a little bit more than everybody else, and also impressing my friends (practical jokes), by figuring out their combo would be hilarious.
I've spent so many shims already on different locks, I like getting ino them, but like I said, I just found 2 dudley locks and want to figure out how to save me some shims.
And as for figuring out the combo if I need to shim it, It really doesn't help

I wasnt suggesting you shim it i was saying you cant shim them,
As for post wadding uwsdwf has it correct but i didnt mean any offence to it and wasnt having a go but for a question to go unanswered for a week on here before turning into a multiple page thread is not unknown, bumping a thread a few hours after it was made just tickled me so no offence meant,

By the way, not only can Dudleys not be shimmed, but also the dial won't rotate while the lock is open.
There are two promising methods that I see:
Stray's way, of feeling the wheels through the shackle (illustrated!!)
viewtopic.php?t=6423&highlight=
and the other way that has been mentioned on this forum: when the first two numbers are dialed correctly, and the shackle is pulled, it becomes more difficult to move the dial! Obviously, this can greatly reduce the number of combinations that need to be tried -- however there are at least 4 pairs of numbers that will cause this to happen, as there is one fake gate on each of the rear wheels.. see autopsy photos in the dudley thread to see what I'm talking about
