I was wondering if there were any practice set's of locks that you can buy online. My friend told me he found some but lost it. I've only picked a Master Lock #3 and some door lock. I need to expand my verity of locks and such. If anyone could help me with this please do.

Hello and to the forums :)

I think the practice locks you are referring to are called "cutaways"

Cutaway cylinders can be purchased from the Southern Ordinance (SouthOrd) link below..

http://southord.com/catalog.asp?cat=instr

Have you got a set off picks? you can make your own but it takes time and skill..

Hope this helps :)

Yeah I have Southord 8 piece set. Guess I didn't look around there for cutaways. Also, thanks.

have a look in the buy/sell/trade section, there are a few members that sell them on here before they stick them on ebay. hand made and they usualy throw in spare pins for repining.

keys to tubular

Postby raimundo » 8 Feb 2007 12:08

that little volume called the keys to tubular locks, if its the same book I once owned years ago, has patent diagrams of the ace lock, and also I believe may mention the van lock or the nixpix lock, does anyone have this book and can confirm this?
