Postby gojo9982 » 12 Feb 2007 17:07

I'm really new to lockpicking, and let me say that I have read all the tuts and stuff, but they dont help me because I dont feel like taking apart my lock and all that. Well, I have a American Padlock (ones that the school give you). Should Be starting on this lock? I also have a Snake rake, not sure how to use it or if it is even for this lock, a c-rake, a feeler pick and a super thin tension wrench which bends easily. I cant figure out how to pick this anywhere and I really need help. I'm not sure which way to turn it, and i've gotten all the pins down before, it just doesnt open and I dont know what im doing wrong. Please help me!

I must only assume by the urgency of this thread that you must have this lock some how locked around you genitals...... or you starting out with a lock much too difficult for a beginer otherwise read the obligatory greeting message

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting. Cause everyone should HYSF as well as there Pick-fu.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.
Cheers,

You dont NEED to take pins out of a lock to practise.. BUT, go buy yourself a 5 dollar QuikSet dead bolt lock that you can repin in seconds by prying the top pin cover off and start here:

Good luck.

Ok, but the one i'm trying to pick is a combo lock and months ago i locked a bag I have to a bar in my house and I thought it would be somthing good to practice on, but i cant get it and its pissing me off...and, what was the point of the first reply? you just re-typed what it says on the front page...no point in telling me that.

also what do you recommend i use to pick a combo lock for a beginner?

a snake, c-rake or feeler?

OK well you CANT have read all of the guides and still not know how 2 use a snake rake...

I know it can be a bit overwhelming at first but take it one step at a time. and you really wont get far in lock picking if you not willing to strip down some locks.

BUT if you are convinced you have read all the guides you can find feel free to add me on MSN. ill happily send you a few thousand pages in various PDF and Word documents to keep you busy. there are also several "lectures" floating about on video. Probably about a days worth of watching that will point you in the right direction.

www.toool.nl i think a couple of them are hosted on there.

this one is also a GREAT video to watch.

I love how we have a guy thats been on the site approximately 4 hours asking us a question. then dismissing the answers we gets. Especially when its Trevor giving the answers.

Seems to me we have a kid who wants to open school lockers. i could be mistaken and if i am, im sorry.

Its been pointed out to me that the chances are you are talking about the master combo lock. YES it can be Opened, in many ways. But u cant pick a combination lock.

All the answers are covered in lots of threads. but the chances are you wont have the patience to spend the time looking for them.

once again, a combination lock cant be picked. if your school has the model with the key on the back (A second lock which operates the mechanism to release the shackle) that can be picked. But i can see this thread getting locked up long before any of the members will be giving out answers to that.

yes it can be picked go to youtube, and it is one where you spin the dial to unlock it. it has a slot for a key in the back so it has to be able to be picked. and i will correct you for being wrong, i am not trying to open school lockers, as i said before, i have a bag locked to a steel bar in my house and its been there for months. so if u think i'm lying about it on video check it out on youtube. and, i could really care less if you lock this thread and ban me or whatever other things you do, because i can get past ip bans and there are plenty of other sites other than this.

firstly... if it has a keyway on the back the PRIOR GUIDES GIVEN TO YOU TEACH YOU HOW TO PICK.
Secondly, you can take yuotube and hoop it. I guarentee that there is no video on earth that shows a person "picking" a combo lock, a pintumbler on the back possibly, but not a combo lock that is a physical impossibility.
Thirdly, since youtube seems to have all you "answers" why ask us?
Finally, proxy avoidance is detecable and make idle threats is utterly useless to your cause.
My suggestion is that you click the prior links given to you, learn what the definition of picking is and just relax.
