Hello!
I've been interested in lockpicking for some time now, trying with paperclips and so on without sucess. So today I got a 6 pieces set with 2 tension wrenches. I've tried for a few hours without being able to open my lock. When I "give up" for the moment I hear 2-3 clicks which must a sign that I've set 2-3 pins. But I have a problem. The first pin (closest to the "hole") sets almost directly and the driver pins doesn't come back down, which it should right? And when I continue to the second pin, the first pin falls down when I raise the second pin. I'm familiar with the mechanics of locks and I've read most guides and so on. Is there anything to learn from the first pin falling down, at least the key pin, when I raise the second one?
The lock is an ABUS 55/30
Thank you!

abus have security spool pins which would make it quite hard to open for your first lock. personally, i would try a something without security pins.
if you tell us where you live in your profile somebody could suggest a easier lock.

Okey, I have updated my profile now.
I have another lock at my school which I'll bring home tomorrow and try to pick also, the brand is "Burg Wächter", a german brand from what I can tell from the name. So any information on that lock or a good practice lock in my region would be very appriciated.
My friend said he picked his first lock in 60 mins and I've been trying all day, at least 2-3 hrs all together so it feels like I'm doing something wrong, but I'm very confident in my theoretical knowledge but there seems to be something I'm missing practicly, so heres another question while I'm at it; if the lock clicks, but doesn't move/cant feel any difference with the tension wrench, does this mean that the pin isn't set or does the "plug" only move on certain locks in that degree that's it's noticeable for beginners?

I think Burg Wachter are also high end. A cheap lock is the key, and you should start with something new. That way you know there is no internal damage.

i'd go with pauly003 and say Burg Wachter probably have security pins also.
try your local discount store for cheap locks but don't buy a tri-circle, these are full of security pins.
as for your second question, a better quality lock will have tighter tolerences so less movement in the plug as each pin sets.

I've found cheap padlocks with any brand it seems, I'll buy one of those and try. Thanks for guiding me to locks that are more fitting for me as a beginner to pick! One last question though, the Burg Wächter locks has inscriptions that says "double bolted". I've searched the forum where I enconter the term but not what it means, can anyone tell me?
Thank you

without any brand* Sorry for the misspelling. Btw, I know people who travel to and from the Uk, so if anyone who lives there can recomend an easy brand from over there I would be greatfull. We dont seem to have a very large variety of lockbrand here in Sweden.
