If it's a KwikSet deadbolt assembly, then don't even bother with the retaining clip. Just pry off the top metal clasp and the pin sets and springs are right underneath the clasp. If you don't have a deadbolt and have a solid assembly door handle, then, well, do as cjames73 says and pop off the c-clip. On the brighter side, if you run into a deadbolt then you already know how to play with their pins from here on out!
