falle lock picks

i have a set of these that my father gave me last year. do i use these like regular picks and whats with the adjustable tension wrenches?

That is so not fair. How does someone who doesnt know the value of a Falle pick set get one for free?

Anyways, yeah you can use it like regular picks. But the large sweep or curve pick dont work well on locks with tighter keyways I hear.

The wrenches are adjustable so you can make them fit a variety of keyways without having to carry an army of different tension wrenches.

If you still cant figure out how to use them, I'm always willing to buy them from you to ease your distress.

Unless you can throw a couple hundred dollars down the toilet like it's nothing, I suggest buying a cheap southord set to learn on.

Explain to your dad the $15 southord garbage-(I learned on home made picks, went to southord and used them for over a year. They are perfectly functional picks. They are more than capable. Don't blame the picks.)-saves the expensive ones from becoming garbage.

It was a very generous gift. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to destroy it because you weren't ready for them yet. Shelf them until you can pick spools and other security pins and aren't breaking picks. Don't get impatient and try and comphensate for lack of skill by using the better tools early. You'll cheat yourself and the improvement will be marginal compared to learning without a crutch. When you can pick kwiksets with a paper clip, and wafer locks with a bobby pin, that's when the falle set will take your skills to the next level.

i have hundred of various picks but one hpc mini set that i practice with broke to many in the beginning till i figured out the proper tecnique...............i don pick alot of locks lately im too busy learning safe work right now.

As TOWCH said, these are really expensive picks. Sounds like you know what you're doing so I'll leave it at that.

One thing I noticed with my Fall-Safe pick set is that they stain pretty quickly!
There is a stain ( like the metal is turning black in colour) where I have my fingers holding them.
Anyone else notice this?
This is not a problem with my Southord set.

But they are an awesome set of picks , and to get them for free, your one lucky dude

yea i have kinda seen the "stain" thing too. It wipes away though, just have to take care of them, wipe them down every now and then, after all they need care too just like any sports car

My spring steel Majestic picks with the metal handles are starting to develop stains on them as well. But then again the metal for the handles on these picks looks like they're made out of very cheap recycled material.

my father was for about five years than my brother had it for a while and i got everything that was left after my brother sold it ............foley machine ,a pin kit .and thousands of key blanks.
