Getting a job/apprenticenship

Well, I'm sick of being so poor, so I want to get a job in the industry. How do I go about this? What skills/things would you be looking for in an apprentice?

-the location of all local coffee shops.
-paitence
-knowldege of a micrometer to sort the pins
-a love for the most mundane things
-a passion for sweeping

when/if you go for an apprentice interview
take along some of your cutaways

just to show that you know the basic workings of locks
and your craftsmanship

you can maybe go old school
and stick with the basics
or specialize in something
whether it be high security locks
or something in electronics / new technology

RFID - card swipe stuff - lasers - BIOMETRICS

Yeah, I figured I would have to slave over the key machine all day, too.
Oh, and I have my own digital calipers so I won't be needing a micrometer.
