Kinda surprising and upsetting, all that info on locks and safes and bypassing out there...

It seems every one who has LSS is very pleased. Would you say there is a lot of out dated material in it, and is there ample amount of relevant new material? Also I heard there is a new version coming out soon, does any one know when?

I'm still undecided on which to get, the books or cd's.

no info is really outdated cause you know somewhere out there you'll run into some old lock....bud run your business licence by Mark at security.org being a SC might give you the quals to get one of the better versions!

If I'm not mistaken, you're guaranteed at least 1 updated version once you buy a copy, you just have to pay cost of materials + shipping.

I could be wrong, but I read that recently, so I wouldn't worry about it getting out dated.

It's on my wish list, but I want to get at least the locksmith version and I might be able to get my credentuals in order for the gov issue, though doubtful, worth a try. Still the $$$$ is a factor too

just wondering, for those with the gov't version, was it worth it? I'm specifically interested in the DAME videos. I have already purchased a print copy, but I just took over a shop that has contracts with the community police and even a canadian forces training facility (so I should qualify as a contractor). The community police just spent a fair bit of cash upgrading their radios to digital, and they've asked to have me send someone by to discuss improving security in the comms center. They're looking for keypad OR fob entry (with key override)... audit trail, electronic strike, etc etc. I was wondering if those of you with the gov't version thought that there are things in it that may be of use to me on this job?

I own the locksmith version myself, and I'm not a locksmith. (But I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night)

The information is out there folks. This cat is never ever going back in the bag either.

This wall of secrecy that surrounds locksmithing is beginning to crumble just as it should.

Why?

The internet.

This is good for people like me who have no criminal intent, yet still have a burning desire to learn. I don't have any letters after my name that would entitle me access to such info as safecracking should I pursue this through the "acceptable" channels.

So, I use the bypass technique. (See? I'm more like you than you know)

Soon, all your secrets will belong to me. Muhahaha (Insert mad scientist laugh here)

I bought this work of art a couple of weeks ago and I am really impressed bigtime!!!!!!

Reading this material makes you understand that the sly really is the limit.

I am planning of becoming a locksmith,there are not that many in The Netherlands.

I am working on my picking skills every day now,yes I confess...I am a lockpick addict :shock:

As far as being inventive on the subject,there are a lot of good ideas on this siteI,ll do my best to put in my share of thinking,making and amazing.

I purchased the book about four years ago (and couldn't be more satisfied with anything else). Does this upgrade still apply to me? Are there any disscounts on the CD's if you already have the book?

my shop has clearance to purchase the government 14 volume edition but i just spent my money on the peterson g4 set, i'll buy it in a few months when i can afford to blow most of a G-Note on it. I'll give you guys a very in depth review (without detailed information) about what it covers when i get it.
