Southern Specialties sl-6, anyone tried it?

Hey u lot.

I'm sure its a bit of a gimmick really but i was just wondering if anyone has tried it yet. I haven't noticed this set before. It looks like a nice little picket set that might be a nice alternative to the Jack Knifes that get slated do often.

The SL-6 is a pocket lock pick tool that was engineered for the professional and is not to be confused with a novelty, gadget or key chain item. This professional tool contains 7 tools in one handle,4 picks. Nice design but personally I think the handle is wayyyy too bulky. It would make it difficult for me to be able to manipulate a pick with a handle that huge very effectivly.

yes I did think about that. especially as the handle looks like its designed to be held like a knife.

I was mainly interested in any experience with it and what the feedback is like on it. but ide be surprised if many members have this tool.

I'm not really sure where it falls. it wont go on a key chain as its got no place to attach it and its a bit big. and its a bit limited as a main pick set. well massively limited. then again it looks well made in the pictures and it even has a broken key extractor. ive got my eye on there Falle set "Replicas" so pick one up unless anyone has experience with them and recommends against it.

I just bought the Falle clones picks a few weeks ago. These things are great! They can do marvelous things with locks that I wish I could share with the world but can't out of fear of being censured and scolded by the moderators because of its advanced topic nature.

The falle originals are a bit to much for a hobby picker as far as im concerned. well more than i can afford atm anyway. but for £20 for whats basically 12 falle picks it seems like a bit of a bargain. but being in the UK i like to order a few things at once to save on postage so i was gonna pick up the sl-6 next month at the same time.

I don't know about the SL-6 set but I have their FPS-7 set and some extra picks for it and I love it. I also have their warded padlock set and 2 of their deforest style picks (they call it an offset diamond hybrid) one with the plain laminated handle and one with the laminated ripple core handle. I find Everything I have gotten from them to be of very good quality. I acquired these things in 2 separate orders and they were very good to deal with on both occasions.

Southern Specialties tools are really good quality actually, dont let their website fool you. From what I understand they used to sell metal fabricating tools and equipment so I'm sure they know what they are doing when they make their picks.
