Melvin..........Great Job! man this tool has a nice solid feel to it. After playing around with it a little, I took hot melt glue and ran it around the outside diameter of the bottle cap over all the ridges. This gave it a better textured grip, so that it didn't rub my fingers raw. Just wanted to say that you did an excelent job on this guide, and thanks for the time and effort.
I hear what you are saying.....that doesn't mean I agree with you....Just that I am nodding my head to placate you and silence your futile attempts to win the argument.

Sorry Melvin no donation but a good word,
I made two of these a while ago, one thin 2 pronged version and one thick 1 pronged. I really like using both of them, but prefer the 2 pronged one. I used a strong but thin wire from an electric flyswatter, and it works great. You can't really use them when you're holding the lock in your hand, but it works great and is my preferred tension tool when picking locks on my lockboard.
I think it would also mke a nice automotive tensioner.

Thanks for saving us some cash, excellent idea.
Now for the noob question? (which may be because I'm tired and brain dead, but I'm pretty sure I just don't know).
What's a ballrace?
The sprung circular tensor is also an great idea.

I have been looking at buying one for weird keyways, but making one would be so much better.

I was thinking of making a circular tension tool as well, I'll have to try this design first.
