Iv been out with a few of the guys already. Looks like NickBristol might be right about the boss testing me when he said i wouldnt be out on the road until my 3rd year.

I think the way it works around here is if the guys like me, they will take me out with them to help when they need me, if not i stay in the shop.

Yes we use computer software to calculate large master key systems.

globallockytoo no its not Integrity.

TAFE does seem to be pretty good i was surprised to be honest. It seems to be the perfect compliment to work, and also some of the things i learn at TAFE i wont learn at work. For instance we dont do automotive.

Thanks for all the great advice everyone :) Im very happy with my decision. I can see what some people are saying about the strengths of the smaller company aswell though. I think its just more to do with personal preference and what kind of direction an individual is looking for in thier career.

Iv got TAFE 2 nights per week. Havn't heard anything about Melbourne from anybody. Im on mature age wages so the boss wanted me to do it after work hours which is fair enough.

i had to go to melbourne for 2 weeks at a time, 4 times a year for 3 years to go to trade school, but i do live in darwin, but if there is a good TAFE where you are, which there obviosly is, you wont be sent to melbourne

Is Steve still the head lockie?

Tell Huggy I said Hi. (he is definitely the nicest guy there)

I used to work there when Sean was the foreman, and Maxine was the GM.

My best mate still lives in Darwin, I havent been there for about 4 years now.

I worked there in '96.

I really liked Steve Lawrence. I used to rent a room from Huggy and he used to umpire the cricket team where my mate plays at Tracy village. He'll remember who I am when you say that. I'm living in the US now.

Big Bad Ben.....he can drink a mean beer....and he's a big boy, from what I remember....he used to fit all the floor safes, I remember when he was a first year apprentice.

My name is not well liked by Tim so we better not mention it here...and he is legally not allowed to discuss why, nor am I.
