I found a site that I was thinking of buying my first set from. Just got two questions www.locksmith-tools.co.uk

1. I would have to use a postal order so can they be trusted (nothing against the site just being cautious)

2. Which one should I buy

One more thing I dont mind paying by postal order, I just dont have a credit card and my parents wont let me use there lol (spent way to much on ebay)
Any so if you can recommend a UK site that is both trustworthy and is kinda chep that also accepts postal orders then please let me know of them (is this asking to much)

Stay away from that company, all the stuff is over priced or cheap copy's,

They are better known as Tradenet and havent had a good responce from people who buy off them especially when they find the stuff cheaper elsewhere,

They also set up a lock picking forum called the same as ours,

Its up to you of course but i suggest dont bother with them, they may change the colour of the website but they dont fool us,

As for other uk shops? well most arte lockie only but i would try anything before going to your choice,

I havent bought from them myself but devon locks has a good stock and will accept payment in any form and unlike the above can be trusted from the reports ive had, again may not be the cheapest tools out there but better than the alternitive,

But of course these are only my opinions,

I found another awesome site called www.airpistol.co.uk just one thing they have an 11 piece pick set called mpxs11 and a 14 piece set called pxs14 but the 14 piece is cheapr is this due to quality or what because I want to get a good deal but not at the cost of quality the only thing I can see is the 11 piece has stainless steel metal handles while the other only comes with some vinyl sleeves

Obviously you are mistaken.... Shrub is asking 35 pounds for his, while they list theirs for 44 pounds PLUS vat which will likely bring their price up to 60 pounds or so .
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

www.locksmithtoolandsupply.com. They are a locksmith supply company (or at least they should be) that goes along with the Assured Locksmith Training course. I took the course a few years back so I have no problems ordering from them but they never seem to check anyways so it's worth a try. They carry way more and wayyyyy better tools and equipment then Foley-Belsaw.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Jimmysmith,
I looked around the web and my supplier catalogues and made sure my brand new wedge was a good amount discounted from anyone else selling them new so i am confident im right,
As zeke said there wedge is far more money than mine,

Ghost6989,
It sounds like your gogin to do as you please anyway but listen to the advice and at least check out devon locks,

In my opinion the worst thing you can do is buy picks from gun shops, joke shops or general tool stores,

If you can get over your fear of online shopping check out our sites sponcer and with the discount code you can get 10% off the price on non sale items,

Please remember the adverts on this site have nothing to do with this site in anyway, they are mostly cowboy training firms or people ripping you off for picks, some are worthy companies but most arent,
The ONLY store we reccomned officially is the sites sponcer so if you see the adverts on site dont think they are ok'd by us as they are not, nor would we use them either,

I have checked out devon tools and they are an awesome shop but the only but for my first set I wanted a cheap one and airpistol.co.uk seem to have the cheapest and it seems to be the same model as devon locks and all the rest. I am still thinking and if I do get my first set from airpistol.co.uk then it will be my last purchase there as I will use devon locks after that. For instance there five piece pick set with book sells for £18.99 while at airpistol.co.uk the 14 piece set sells for £10.99 plus £2 something for p&p.

I mean I am pretty sure they are the same standard of picks I just want to get the best picks I can without spending alot lol, I must sound like a prick to you guys but I do take what you say onboard so please dont think I am asking opinions and then doing as I please, I am trying to make an informed choice with all the information you guys give me and I am very grateful for it.

as for the fear of the only shopping thing, I dont have one I just am not allowed to use my parents card anymore I spent to much on ebay one year and they said never again no matter what lol, I have been using those online survey things and paypal to get stuff of ebay (the survey thing is awful dont ever try it :)) but If I had a card myself I would be buying all I need no bother but as I need to use paypal I dont have alot of choice with the postal order thing.

Ah yes sorry i forgot you said it was a parent thing about the card,

Well if its the same set im supprised then and in that case go for it from the gun shop,

Make sure they are the same make,

Usually the gun and joke shops etc are vastly over priced and i imagined you paying £10-£15 more than the rrp,

If its the cheapest and the same set go for it,

ghost6989 i ordered a set recently from airpistol site and they mainly stock the 'standard' pick not the slimline which i prefer.

i can recommend them tho, delivery was quick and well packaged , but for slimline picks i would go for the site sponsors 100% , can u ask your parents to pay for the goods from the US store using paypal or similar for you as i think slimline are a more forgiving pick for a beginner
