I am practicing on an russwin lock that has the knob and the bolt in the same assembly. My problem is that when I pick the lock I get a 180 degree turn of the key slot yet cant get the bolt to move more then a third of the way. I have tried using a screw driver to turn it, yet to no avail. I have the key and know that the lock works. I have practiced with the door both open and closed yet the same thing happens. So I have ruled out the door jam or faulty lock does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the bolt to turn the rest of the way?? Is it also possible that there is a anti picking point that needs to be pressed down if so how do I find it and get around it??

DO NOT PLAY WITH LOCKS ON DOORS,
I assume its not somthing as simple as the pins springing into the bottom of the keyway,
Its possable that the key pushes somthing in at the end of the keyway, copy the key and cut all the cuts off it, now use that to turn the lock once picked,

does the key turn around further than it does when you pick it?
if it does what it is, is the pins catching in the bottom of the broaching, use you pickto push the pins up and out of the key way.
Is that the problem your having?

I have to agree with shrub...
Get a key that fits into the lock,(like a bump key, with everything ground down) and use that to turn the lock once picked. that's what I do on a deadbolt that I have that will only turn 90% of the way before you really have to use a lot of force.

Kwiksets are rather notorious with this problem. Maybe thats cos so many people use them, i dunno.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

what the F... does that mean
you seem to lack the attention span to form a cohesive sentence or paragraph. There are like ten thoughts in that thing and one stopping period.
Not only the grammar issues but, I think, what you are describing may break the lock. I said I think as i'm not sure what you are saying.

Ever heard of nonsense generator?
I suggest the same thing for helloman: Use some punctuation in your text and breath between your thoughts. That kind of text is very hard to read and understand, it is like somekind of "thought-flow".
