Welcome to the group. The lock you have is known as a cruciform lock or at least that is the shape of the key. By the looks, it has pins on at least three of the four sides. Nothing particularly special about it - these locks have been around for a very long time (about 150 years!).
Have a search for cruciform locks using the search engine. You will probably find some relevant stuff.

Cruciform is the name, not the blasphemy committed above. Yes, they can be picked, the issue becomes where to apply tension. The easiest way to get past them is to bump them (yes, they can be bumped ). If not there is a tool: Click here Scroll down to the "cross picks."
Good luck.

I've read and re-read for the comment where someone called the lock blasphemy and can't find it.... so where did you get that from?

you gotta be pooping me? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
Blasphemy:
-blasphemous language (expressing disrespect for God or for something sacred)
-profanation: blasphemous behavior; the act of depriving something of its sacred character
Blasphemy requires intentional desecration of a religous or sacred figure (item or otherwise)...
gonna call someone a blasphemor, learn the appropriate use of the language. Also I think your religion mentions something about judging not....

First, it was said in jest, and no one was called a blasphemor. An act was was called blasphemy.
Second, I really don't need you giving me definitions of words I use. I know the meaning full well whereas you had to go to dictionary.com and think about it for 15 minutes before writing a response. Hence you automatically thinking that I was calling the key blasphemy rather than an act.
Third, you know nothing about my religion. So keep your fat mouth shut.

The situation stops here. No more between the two of you or I'll lock the thread up.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!
