Well after acquiring this lock a few months ago and not being able to pick it I wondered if there was something jamming up the mechanism, and since I don't have a key a Dremel style execution was in order. After butchering on this lock for near an hour with a Dremel I finally got it open and removed all the inner parts. One of the main problems I found with picking it is that huge spring that everyone talks about and the 3 SPOOLS INSIDE!!!!! I had heard of them having one or two but I was very surprised when I found 3. What bothers me now is that I could feel 2 of the spools and set them then get a false set that I could never defeat. I wish I could say what positions the spools were in I know positions 2 and 3 from picking but the third jumped out and I didn't look where it came from. Oh and the springs for the pins were different lengths as well.

3 SPOOLS INSIDE!!!!!

You obviously never tried an American Padlock or regular old Assa ehh mate? :o haha

IF you want a tick, Crank the tension, when lifting the first pin let off so you don't bend you pick. After it clicks, Crank it again.

Repeat this from front to back, Back to front, or whichever way makes a feel gitty, And it will open.

The reason its hard is there is a spring loaded plug, so estimating or keeping constistant with tension is hard. Not a bad lock, I still say if abus put a spring loaded plug on there original... would be a much better lock

This lock gives lots of people headaches. There are numerous helpful threads on the subject already. If you search you'll find them. Good luck.
