I hate to be the one to do this but try searching the FAQ section. All your questions are answered.

Also pay attention to your location as you may need slim-line picks.....

If you still have questions after reading the FAQ pm me and ill help you out.

The book with the picks is really of no use.I have it even though it was not advertised with my picks. I think if you buy them from Southord they give you the book anyway!

From the picks you have given the links to I would reccomend the first or third set as they have "Thick Metal" handles. I have a set of Southord picks and find them very good.I don't Know anything about "Dyno" picks but it says they are made from spring steel which is said to be beter than stainless steel.
Someone else maybe able to tell you about "Dyno" picks.

Those Dynos do look mighty fine though..

Hope this helps

www.Southord.com

If you are in America/Canada get standard size picks, If you are in Europe we normally use Slimline, but to be honest I find it depends on the lock.

My advice would be Order -

A hook, half diamond and a selection of rakes in both standard and slimline.

get more of the size that suites ur area but having a slimline pick is always helpful for tight key ways and standards are nicer to work with if the space is there.

Set ur self a budget and get what u can for it.

The book is useless. about 2 minutes reading. just read the MIT Guide in stead.

All the best
