Volkswagen key

Postby Singful » 20 Mar 2007 5:46

Hi my friend just got the new VW beetle and it has a key with one deep groove cut down the centre. What type of key is this and how does it work and how can I pick it. I know all about the chip in the key and all the trouble you have to go through to get a new key to work; so i more interested in just the key portion but any help on how to bypass all the computer rubbish would be helpfull.
P.S. I don’t want to brake in to his car , it is more about knowing how.

Do a search here on high security automotive locks. There are even a few videos posted on this site in the Automotive Locks section on that specific vehicle.

If you want to know more about then than that, then don't screw with your friends car. Buy a couple of locks at a salvage yard or on Ebay and molest them instead.

Hes been here a week and has 2 posts, hes not going to have access to the auto section.

But i do agree that you should leave ur friend car lock alone. these locks are not made to be abuses. you will break it.

Please familerise yourself with the rules of this site and then read around all the stickies,

If you read enough on the site you will be able to work out exactally how to pick your lock,

I will however say that you should not be touching that lock at all, vehicle locks can have some delicate parts inside and random poking around in there can lead to a damaged lock and big repair bill,

I apprechiate you say you dont want to break into his car but A) we only have your word for it and we dont know you and B) theres not a lot of reasoning for you to 'just know' the techniques,
