I was thinking,is it possible to design a device which can set each pinstack and so you can open a lock without a key,and don,t send me the answer yes, lockpicks!!!!
The Sputnik does this or not?Hmm answering your own question dude....
Besides that is it possible to design something similar,I read it is possible to make a sputnik but I also understood that you have to make different keys because of the different keyways etc....
No,what I really mean is designing a device suitable for lets say pin tumbler locks no matter what size of keyway.
Think with me please.

it would be next to impossable to make a pick like this for most pin tumblers, their are too many differant spacings, profiles and pin heights, yes it is possible to make the sputnik bt you would have to have some accurate equipment to use and eally know what your doing, personally myself i think it would be beter to get good at impressioning, this way all you need is the right blank and a file, then you will get a working key, and doing it this way you dont have to worry about top spool pins

You can make a tool that would work for a range of locks, but I think the search for the universal pin tumbler decoder is similar to the search for the universal bumpkey. An extraordinary thought experiment.
Like trying to square a circle, you know?

"is this possible?????"
I thought your opening line was going to be somthing like "I cant make decent titles, is it possable someone can ban me from posting until i learn to do so" but then i read on and found i was wrong again,
On to the subject you intended,
The tools you are looking for are John Falles universal pin lock decoders, theres a few differant generations of these but they are about as universal as you will get,
It is impossable to make a mechanical 'universal' tool as what may be loose in one keyway may be tight in another, make the tool to fit a small tight keyway you find and you have a tool that will open the locks on the back of combo locks but are lost in a Medeco,
You simply have to have somthing that accuritley guides any mechanical process through the keyway to each pin stack accuritely and consitantly,
I have mentioned the Falle tools but i have to remind you discussion of those and the sputnik is limited to the advanced sections so please be careful what is posted,

Shrub,no worries eventhough I make lousy subject titles,I am aware of this rule
I,m glad that I got these responses,it was a thought and I needed this thought to be shot to pieces or made happy with innovative ideas, some kind of quest

I was invisioning a key that was like a tubular pick but flat like a key ,and then you would push the small wire in, that are lined up under the pins.
Is there any thing like that?

Yup, look up some of the terms used in previous postings, as discussion of this is probably walking the advanced line already.

It wouldnt be hard to make what your saying.Just use your head your on the right track. you would need a few different blanks, thin strong wire. and a universal handle. the biggest problem is the same problem with decoding.Knowing kwickset uses codes starting at 1 and ending at 7 that leaves something like 78000 combinations.
Im probably going to get yelled at for posting this much but you get the picture.

Butterboy, thats the sputnik but it wont do as ridder wanted as you do have to use differant profile keyways,
Personally i love this sort of talk but when people get to the advanced sections they have lost interest in such things or simply dont talk about it often,

I will provide you a link of another thread to where you will find the details you request,
LINK
I shall now lock this thread in order to keep it in the public sections, its now crossed the line to some extent but personally im willing to leave it here as a snippet for those that are curious,
