Just picked my first lock!

just wanted to say that i just picked my first lock
i got my Southord picks a few days ago and just today had the chance to go out and get myself a lock to practice on. there werent any hardware stores around so i just went to walgreens and the only padlock they had was the Masterlock #140. I had a lot of trouble trying to pick it and i found out from this site that these apparently have security pins. my left hand is sore from holding the lock for so long but i can pick the lock in under 10 seconds now .
I also figured out how to open the Masterlock TSA certified combination lock. that thing is not secure at all considering it only took me a few minutes to figure out.

so does anyone have any suggestions on what locks i should go for next? im going to try to find a kwikset lock and try out that excercise i found on here.

Congrats! A Kwikset would be the perfect lock to tackle next. Some Kwiksets now likes to use spool pins but since you already seems to have an idea on how to defeat them on a Master Lock you can give it a try.

I have been trying that master #140 with no luck. Any tips for me. I usually false set ALL the pins so it seems. Any pointers would be great. It looks like a crappy lock but is a challange for me.

Master no 140 has been talked about alot on this forum. ill be nice and say search in future (so no one needs to flame him)

The #140 lock does have spools but there not deep cut spools, get the tension write and u wont even feel them.
