Today i saw a really strange lock on the portuguese Phone company...

Just a cilinder with one small dot...

What kind of lock is that...?

Ah, that is an easy one. I know exactly the lock you are talking about and have pictures with operation info. The lock works by............................

The point is, if you leave out all of the details of a question OR an answer, both are completely useless.

I take it that you want me to be detailed about how an electronic lock works...

Well with in the small hole there is most likely an electronic contact that will communicate with the key... the key it's self could be independant circutry or could be wired to a PDA or something of the sort. Once the key with the correct "password" is inserted it will communicate with the lock telling it to release a locking pin inside the cylinder, this allows free rotation of it and there by opening the locked area.

Yeah I know that lock. You have to search Google for Braille alphabets and study hard so you know what that dot means. Then you do it like it says.
