Just wondering,I,ve seen a lot of different tensionwrenches but the homemade picks I,vre seen are all the same,a hook, diamond, rake, etc.
Is this because it has proven that these pickshapes work so everybody thinks there is no need for another kind of pick design?Like I said, just wondering

All pick designs work on certain locks in certain hands but the most comm only used are the ones you describe,
Its obvious that the most commonly used would be the ones most commonly made i would have thought,
A lot of people also find it hard for some reason to make ball picks because of the radius,
For single pin picking there is not much option, you either use a diamond or hook pick with varying sizeing and spp is where its at

Mate, you can make you own design. Those picks work,it's true, but they keep developing.Have you seen a bogota pick `till now? It's the new generation. You are free to use your own tools,no matter of their design. .If you come up with something post here.

I usually only use a variety of hook picks on most locks since I prefer the pin by pin method. I will maybe use a diamond or some sort of rake pick maybe 5 to 10% of the time. But any other picks like the double ball or any other wacky design is just tucked away in my tool box and rarely is ever allowed to see the light of day.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

SlingsVaqueros most of my lockpicks have handles made from 2 part epoxy that come in a tube and looks like play dough. It makes a nice handle for picks made from street sweeper bristles, piano wire, scroll saw blades, wiper inserts.

Yea, they looked molded, instead of dipped. I thought it was something like that. Does it stay tacky, or is it hard?
