Mini Pick Set

I was wondering on the bogota templet. The mini pick Set. Does anyone have any exta info or close up pictures of that?

Also The Safety pin and Spring. Was it Raimundo's idea to use is at a plug spinner or just a way to hold it??

If you're talking about using a ballpoint pen spring in the production of Bogata Picks, Ray uses them to hold two picks together so that the twists fit into each other. It's really handy for saving on storage space if you wanted to slip them into your wallet or something. He uses the pen spring to hold them together during the twist.

Is the mini set just a Street Swapper Bristle cut in half?

If any one has a clear close up picture of the mini pick set I would really like to see them. It would help out a lot.

I have not made the bogota yet. I am going to practice on some Chimney Sweeper Bristles first.

I am starting to wonder if we are talking about the same templet.

It is not the one with all pictures.

It has the bogota instructions in text and pictures, then on the next page it has the mini pick set on the very bottom and below that it shows the ergonmic handle..

I use the pin and spring devise to attach the small bogota picks to clothing, such as the inside of a pocket, it helps prevent loss. but the idea of a plug spinner is interesting, perhaps I should make some picks using thicker stock like some of the wiper stiffener stock, and make a plug spinner (tshok mousetrap) that integrates to the bogota set.

As the mini pick set, I made that, its just long enough to reach a 6 pin and only enough outside the plug to get a few fingers on, I reccommend that you forget the template and design your own with the handles that fit your hand/finger size, and the pick shafts and tip are just same as usual, make the kind you like. Really the templates that are relevant are lock and key sizes, finger size, all the usual stuff, you can make it for your own sizes.

Thank you very much raimundo. Yah I will make them to fit me, but I still want a general idea on how to make the pick I don't know how much of a hook to give it. I am dealing with a limited amount of material. So I want to TRY and get it right the first time.

tygart, you should be dealing with street sweeper bristle, or wiper stiffener or plumbing snake, or possibly feelergauge, if its streetsweeper bristle, look for offers of free bristle on the site or look for free bristle on the ground when your crossing the street.
I don't think the availablity of material should be an issue of importance particularily since there are sources right on the forum who will help you out. all the usual materials are fairly well distributed all over.
